11 April 2011: The Logic Group’s secure payment solutions, Solve Centurion and Solve Praetorian have recently been tested and benchmarked with IBM’s Power System platform.
The performance tests, run on IBM’s Power system p750*, achieved a throughput of 4,500 transactions per second.
Paul Russell, Senior Solutions Marketing Manager at The Logic Group, commenting on the performance results said, “This is an outstanding result and is significantly above the performance figures quoted for other payment platforms in the market.
A tier one or tier two merchant will be looking for a transaction throughput of several hundred transactions per second. What we have in Solve Centurion is a payments platform that will provide clients with the very highest levels of performance. Being highly scalable, it can run on systems ranging from the smallest to these high level infrastructures, to provide merchants with the performance headroom to align to their business growth.
Whilst Solve Praetorian, is a bank grade platform that can manage considerable volumes of transactions from multiple merchants. The payment platforms from The Logic Group are highly flexible and scalable and the smaller merchants, as well as larger organisations, will benefit from this exceptional performance.”
The solutions tested include:
Solve Centurion: a next generation payment solution, combining a heritage of transaction processing excellence with security best practice, ease of integration and reduced operating costs. Offering bank grade security based on hardware security modules, the solution processes card transactions from multiple channels, including face-to-face, online, unattended and contact centres.
Solve Praetorian: a secure payment gateway, primarily aimed at banks and card processors. Capable of managing the sorts of transaction volumes associated with acquiring platforms, it offers high performance payment acceptance, security and flexibility across multiple channels and devices.
The solution portfolio highlights:
• Payment platforms built with PCI DSS compliance in mind and featuring a state-of-the-art architecture designed for ease of integration and ongoing management.
• Solutions designed for clients in the UK and Ireland that have actual or evolving needs for European operation.
• Payment Solutions that deliver significant choice benefits:
o Choice of deployment methods – software solutions that can be installed in the clients data centres, a customisable Managed Payment Service delivered from The Logic Group’s PCI DSS compliant data centres or a pre-accredited standardised Managed Payment Service
o Choice of interfacing to a variety of pin entry devices and brands so that merchants are not locked into one particular device or supplier
o Choice of bank acquiring services in the UK and across the rest of Europe.
o A rich variety of value added options including contactless, e-gift, Tax Free Shopping, Dynamic Currency Conversion and pre-paid card support
• Supports Solve DataShield, a multichannel security extension that reduces the scope of PCI DSS by removing card data using point-to-point encryption and replacing card data through tokenisation.
